The word is out about Broadway Improvement Corporation’s new plan to make the busy Broadway corridor even more pedestrian and business friendly and, thereby, all of Fair Lawn a better place to live, work, dine, shop, and invest.

The 20-year plan includes the mayor and council members, borough manager, fire and police departments, and other borough departments to improve everything from pedestrian safety, ordinances regulating parking, and the ability of those in business and government to work together.

Efforts are underway to lower the speed limit on Broadway in the business district, and to install a crosswalk at the Broadway Train Station, and, in a measure that shares costs with Elmwood Park, to upgrade of existing train station traffic control devices to require a full stop for pedestrians crossing Broadway.

The plan will help attract more kinds of fine businesses and make Broadway more vibrant.
